Ubertastic Chili

An here goes a stable of any blog, a personally crafted home brewed recipe of some zesty chili to warm the soul if you will. This recipe took me a few tries and a few failures before I hit on one I liked. Feel free to give it a whirl and modify to your liking. Please if you do try this or modify it let me know how it came out either by leaving a comment or using the contact page.

Ubertastic Chili

  • 2 – 29oz Cans Tomato Sauce
  • 4oz Water
  • 1 White Onion Chopped
  • 2lbs Lean Sirloin
  • 3 jalapenos Finely Chopped (+ 1 serrano pepper if you are feeling frisky)
  • 1 Lime Cut into two halves
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • Chili Powder 1 tbsp
  • Cumin 2 tbsp.
  • Cayenne Pepper 1 tbsp
  • Black Pepper 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tbsp
  • Garlic Powder 1 tbsp
  • Basil (To Taste)
  • Bay Leaves (To Taste)
  • Teriyaki 1 tbsp
  • Honey 1 tbsp
  • Flour (Add Until Desired Consistency is Achieved)

Chop the onion into cubes, chop the tomato into chunks, finely chop the jalapenos and move all to side. In a bowl combine all of the spices and add honey and flower. Mix together with a wooden spoon and place to side. Brown the meat in a pan and sprinkle with 1 table spoon of our spice mix and squirt 1 half of the lime over the meat as it is cooking. Drain the meat and place in your cooking pot. Mix in the vegetables, 2 cans of tomato sauce and 4 oz of water. Squeeze in 2nd half of the lime and mix it all up.

I cook mine on the grill and toss in a very moist hickory chunk and let the chili slow cook and smoke for a few hours.
